Job Description:
The Mission Networks Resilient Networks and Networked Surveillance, Army, Business Development Principal is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the Mission Networks Sector Army, Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Business Development portfolio.
Responsibilities include supporting business strategic planning and technical road mapping efforts, aligning roadmaps against strategic initiatives and providing management oversight of Sector Army SOCOM, and MDA Resilient Networks and Networked Surveillance Pursuits.
Oversight includes managing collaboration between Business Development, Program Management, and Engineering teams.
The Army Business Development Lead will also maintain cross-sector relationships to ensure knowledge of sector capabilities and pursuits outside those of Mission Networks, to support and ensure cross-sector collaboration.
The Army Business Development Principle will report directly to the Mission Networks Director, Business Development for Defense, Intelligence, and Security.
S/he will most ideally be a former Army officer with networks operations experience on an Army Acquisition or Combatant Command Staff, and possess strong technical and programmatic breadth to ensure the Defense and Security portfolio is aligned to the customers' requirements.
Essential Functions:
Lead Resilient Networks and Networked Surveillance new business pursuits with the Army, SOCOM, and MDA.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the defense information networks marketplace, customer requirements, and mission needs.
Be able to communicate that knowledge at all levels within the organization.
Reporting responsibilities include program management, engineering, and capture teams.
Establish and maintain customer relationships with sub-contractors, prime contractors, and government customer communities and maintain a high level of customer intimacy within these communities.
Regularly visit key Army, SOCOM, and MDA customers.
Coordinate, lead and/or support proposal activities.
Incorporate and develop the Orders pipeline in the CRM tool.
Align the sector technical expertise to customers' requirements.
Work with Strategy and Engineering to influence technical portfolio, and ensure IRAD roadmaps and execution plans align with Army, SOCOM, and MDA campaigns and proposal strategies.
Collaborates with Engineering and Program Management to manage the complete lifecycle, from new introduction through replacement/follow on efforts.
Drives to ensure adoption of common architecture frameworks and prevent unique product implementation at proposal phase/concept design within the portfolio.
Supports Engineering efforts to ensure readiness for design reviews within portfolio.
Supports Engineering efforts to ensure baselines are maintained and plans for technology transitions to programs and pursuits.
Travel (25%), domestic and international
Qualifications:
Operational experience as an Army networks/information officer (O4-O5) on the staff of US CYBERCOM, or any Combatant Command.
Bachelor's Degree in relevant STEM discipline and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree in relevant STEM discipline and a minimum of 10 years of related experience, or in lieu of a degree, 16
years of prior related experience.
Experience with Department of Defense and/or US Intelligence Community Programs and experience working with US military requirements, acquisition, and operational agencies.
Experience collaborating in a team environment on multiple concurrent projects with overlapping competing deadlines.
Experience with the government procurement cycle.
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance; US Citizenship required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Direct experience interacting with customers to define mission needs and translating requirements to engineering and program management personnel.
Direct familiarity and experience working with US military requirements, acquisition, and operational agencies.
Working knowledge of the US Department of Defense procurement processes, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Foreign Military Sales/Funded (FMS/ FMF) and International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Experience and understanding of forecasting, investment strategy, standard estimating and budgeting practices, capture planning and proposal.
Ability to think abstractly and analytically to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to internal customers, teammates, and external constituencies.
Proven proficiency to prioritize tasks and organize a workload to ensure most important issues are addressed first.
Ability to interpret, condense, and present findings to audiences with variable skill sets and experience levels.
Highly motivated, self-starter who is willing to dive into the details - collaboration and influence skills Strong business acumen, collaborative ability, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated track record of winning new business.
